Lesson 7: Frequency Tables and Histographs
Lesson 7: Frequency Tables and Histographs

Instructions:
Quantitative data is information that can be quantified, meaning that it can be measured or counted, and given a numerical value.
This lesson will go through how to display quantitative data in a histogram. A histogram is similar to a bar graph but unlike a bar graph, ear bar in the histogram represents a range of numeric values. The height then represents the frequency of the data points falling within that range.
You will notice that when creating a histogram, it is easiest to first put your data into a frequency table to see what your possible ranges might be. Another connection you will notice is the frequency is represented on the y-axis and the range of data is represented on the x-axis.
Use the teacher slides to go through the notes handout and then complete the practice problems.
